2 screens for 1 file analyze

  • Hello all :)

With the contextual menu in Explorer (for example) we can analyze manualy a file in order to see about spy.
Since new version 6.0.2284.253.0485 i have now two screen which opening at the same time,
first screen normaly search about spy with the result
and a second (new !) screen as principal view of Outpost welcome with all the software options.

At the end of research i must closed these two windows one by one
The second screen was never opened until this version !
have you some ideas for this ?

    Thanks to yr support. ;)
    Windows Xp

  • There you go. I rarely scan files directly since if the real time scanner is working then it will catch it and I see no reason to bother with manually doing it. Although, I seem to remember testing this out a while back and seeing both screens open up and thinking at the time that it made no sense for that to happen. Presumably Agnitum fixed the behavior and then it crept back in somehow.

  • Aren't you glad that you asked?

Enjoy the new feature ... :D

  • That's the way it works...

Right, here is a part of Agnitum:

"...This is not a malfunction, but a feature implemented in the newest
version. We will take your suggestions into consideration..."

So i have same affection with this:
...both screens open up and thinking at the time that it made no sense for that to happen...

Thanks, and good Web with all http://smileys.sur-la-toile.com/repository/Zen/0156.gif

  • Anyone with this minor problem ?

  • That's the way it works. I thought it always worked like that frankly. I agree that it makes no sense for the main firewall screen to open since it offers no relevant information. Ask Agnitum to change the behavior: 1

  • Unfortunately, Ofp 2284 had removed real time protection, so manual scanning was the only option/reason left to make use of the AS module!
Re opening of main gui. Ofp 2284 exhibited this same behaviour on my machine when clicking 'save and archive logs' in the icon's submenu, i.e., 2284 never could open the folder containing feedback.zip.

  • I confirm that DidierD's issue is not present in my OFP 2225! Only one screen appears when right clicking a file and scanning it for spyware...

  • Right, without real time scanning the utility of the AS module is significantly reduced. Presumably though, whatever caused it shut itself down has AS capabilities that provides the real time scanning as NOD32 does for me.

  • Thanks to yr reply Manny Carvalho :)

I wrote this msg as i haven't this problem before version 2284.253.0485

I'll write to Agnitum and revert here after.
