I'm looking to see if there have been any lawsuits or otherwise legal
"situations" involving rare records, record collections, or other
music-related memorabilia. NOT music downloading. I'm looking
particularly for divorce proceedings or estate dissolutions where the
value of a record or collection was an issue in dividing up property.
I suspect this sort of thing will happen more and more as records
become more and more valuable, but I don't have any hard evidence yet.

state. Yes, nationwide. The motivation for the questions lies in
establishing the importance of rare records and music memorabilia as
legally recognized assets. Particular "success stories" are important
to show a track record of how they enter into divorce, insurance, and
estate settlements. My business is music appraisal, and this is good
