hi
i apologise about the length of this problem but i really need ur help i purchased laminated flooring from a big store where the owner agreed to supply and fit it. the fitting of the flooring itself is ok but there was problems, the skirting and door plates were clearly rushed and he used bright red filler on all corner and wall ends which looks horrible! i (was not there myself at the time) another big problem was my front door could not open easily it has a brush and the depth of the flooring casued this prob. i complained about those issues, he was not happy about any of my complaints claiming the door is not his problem etc and that the contractor was one of the best and most expensive he had, eventually he offered his worker would take the door off take a bit off the bottom fit the brush back and fit the door back but he wil charge me an extra £50 he wil also correct the red glue,
when the guy came he did the door took his money and said he doesnt have the necessary tools to sort the rest and he wil come back after he left i noticed a long scratch along the laminate flooring as he cut the door on the floor!! i called the owner and complained he didnt believe me again he said his workers would never do such thing..he got rude and hung up.. what can i do can i appeal at the trading standards..do i have a valid case?
You could contact the Better Business Bureau and give them the same story and ask their advice.
Go for it. this guy thinks you don't have the balls to go any further.take pictures, have another expert look at it and give you an estimate as to how much it will cost to fix the problem.
Don't let him get away with "it s not my fault".
I'm in court with one of those and I m not going down without a fight.
I could use some help again...
