On my computer with Outpost Firewall Pro 2008, the base of signature dates from 02/29/2008 and contains 104893 signatures. Is my base up to date or is it a more recent one?
Still a bug to be solved.
I am of the opinion of Manny Carvalho it is probably the posting of the date and the number of signatures which is at fault, but probably the update is made.
To see!!!!
Have an idea on the coming out date of the next update?????Sorry but we aren't informed of new updates until they are released pretty much the same way you are. And if there are beta versions being tested then we are under a non-disclosure agreement not to speak about them.
This is not going to help but I have the same exact problem which I can't seem to fix either. My signature database stays at the same original date and signature number when OP was installed. The same as yours, in fact. Even though the update process works without errors and the files actually change when downloaded.
I suspect that this is due to the AS plugin real time scanner being disabled during the install to avoid conflicts. It's probably a bug that doesn't allow the actual date and signatures to be updated even though I think it actually is being updated. It should show as being updated since it can be used as a on demand scanner regardless.
Is your real time AS plugin disabled?
I think this is a bug and have reported it several times. I suggest you do as well: 1
To verify the malware update, I re-installed 2284 for the fifth time, if not more.
I 'updated' to 2284, but this downgraded my anti-spyware: real-time protection is now greyed out. In main gui though, email scanner now shows in/out, and AS realtime protection shows as enabled ! I already knew that.
Anyway, a manual update went fine, same as 2225. I am now doing the same quick scan I did earlier with 2225.
2225 found nothing suspicious,
2284 finds all sorts of things! But I already knew that as well.
Now, that is wierd !!!
Also, my connection speeds, download and upload, are 1/2 what they normally are. Everything is very slow, including this forum.
Am reverting to 2225.
I fear to have still a problem because I have just made several manual attempts at update and nothing changes.
Always 104893 signatures on 02/29/2008
However when I read the internal events all appears normal and it is known as that the update proceeded well.
I don't understand!!!!
OFP 2008 v.2225. Just updated:
Malware sigs: 105276
Date: 3/6/2008
Well, I just got this back from Agnitum as I once again reported this issue:
Have an idea on the coming out date of the next update?????
