hi there
another needle in the haystack question. i am trying to find this
book that i spent HOURS reading as a kid. the thing was it was a
really crappy product. something the size of a telephone book with
newspaper print paper (maybe even lower quality than that! kind of
soft and very thick, you know what im talking about?) but it was SOOO
packed full of these fun facts. however, i must not have learned very
much since i dont remember a single thing that was in the book. they
had a lot of "did you know..." type sections with amazing things about
other cultures, etc. all the pictures in the book were cheesy line
drawings. no photographs, all illustrated by hand...
anyway, since this is going to be so difficult, ill just limit this
question to: is there a list of children's fun facts/activity books
published between 1980-1985 out there and i can try culling the list
down from there myself?
thanks in advance
it was much more general than that. very broad sort of book. kind of
like a dictionary or an encyclopaedia but i dont recall any order to
the book.
Hi banchan-ga, I was trying to comment on another of your questions,
but the comment option wouldn't come up, don't know why. Anyway, you
had asked for the identity of the boy with the cigar who leads a
terrorist cell of sorts in Myanmar. It's actually 13 year old twin
boys named Johnny and Luther Htoo. If you do a Google on those names,
you'll find info on them, including the picture you referenced. They
are the leaders of the Insurgent God's Army in Burma. Evidently in
March of 2001 the twins were reunited with their mother.

I think what you are looking for is called:
"The World Almanac for Kids", they publish this every year so, the
newer versions would have better graphics, i think there are various
publishers now, but if you track along this line it might point u to
the one that u had in mind.
Other possible titles that you could explore are those "1001 fun
facts..." kind of publications.
Have fun.
Do any of these sound familiar?
