using windows xp home edition
your headphones could be broken..
check the compatibility then try again
Try another set of head phones, so you can know if the head phones are the problem.
1) Check your headphones with some other device, such as an iPod, mp3 player or radio, etc.
If it's not working, then your headphones are spoilt. Go to step 2.
2) Use another pair of headphones, which work in step 1 (test them), and test your computer's port. If it's still not working, your computer's 3.5 mm output port (usually the green one) is spoilt. You'll have to change your sound card.
You might want to check the head phones they may be broke.
If the head phones have worked before on your pc and not working now it obviously means there is some problem with the headphones as speakers still work. Just to make sure try connecting them to other sound output devices or to another pc. If that doesnt work, you might have to get a new set of headphones. I am not sure if you can get them repaired. All the best!
Check if you are connecting it to the correct jack.
I could use some help again...
