the space of my desktop i m using has hard disk of 80GB and 75% of it has use up.. I don no should i use my spare 80GB to use it as back up or should i add on to the desktop i using?? I don wish to spend any money or getting any hard disk.. The spare 80GB have been use as my back up...

  • Use it as a spare, which can also be a backup. You should find out what is using up the space on your main hard drive. which a safe freeware program like http://www.drivespacio.f-sw.com/features... can help you with, and if it is data or media files (not programs) which are good enough to save, then those are the ones you could put on the 2nd drive.

You might want to buy a USB external enclosure (approx. 22.00) which you could plug your old drive into. This are hot pluggalbe, so you can plug them in even after Windows boots. Note that in any case, if the old drive is a pata (versus sata) drive, which it most likely is, then you will need to set the jumper pin to slave, not master, in order for windows to see it.

(1 Th 5:21) "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."

  • it all depends how much additional space you need, and how critical all your files are on your main hard drive that you have backed up on your backup hard drive. If you can just burn a CD or DVD of the critical stuff you can't afford to lose, then i would say add the 2nd hard drive to give you 160GB. if you really need a backup of everything, then use the 2nd drive as a backup/clone of your main drive.

  • addon

  • I could use some help again...
