What does the term "publisher's edition" mean in relation to books?
Hi dalqe,
Most often, "Publisher's Edition" is used to indicate that a book
isn't a "Book Club Edition" (a copy of the original, printed and bound
after the publisher's edition), but rather an original bound by the
publisher. That is *not* to say that it is a "First Edition" (it could
be a later printing of the publisher's edition).
Google Group: rec.collecting.books:
"I would say "publisher's edition" to distinguish from the BCE [book
club edition], and reserve the term "trade edition" to distinguish
from limited, privately-printed or other special editions not
distributed to the trade."

clarification request before closing/rating my answer and I will be
