I've seen this type of thing in many older posts here, but I have never experienced it personally until build 6.0.2284.253.0485.
I run outpost in "Rules Wizard" mode. Since installing v 0485, I get popups all the time for uTorrent. Always for the same basic rule, "app is requesting inbound connection", just with different addresses. I click OK to the default "create new rule" option, but that default uTorrent rule was already in place, and does not appear to get changed (see attached). Have tried making app trusted, but it makes no difference.
I don't have many apps that connect outbound to the internet, and h/w firewall stops most inbound. uTorrent is probably the only app I have (other than IE7) which tries to connect to different remote addresses. So I'm not sure if problem is limited to uTorrent or not.
Nothing too fancy about my setup: WinXP x64. NOD32. multiple cores.
Bottomline, if you install an AV program after install of Outpost, you really must reinstall Outpost so it can catch compatability problems. That's just the way it is right now. Make sure to save away your configuration in case the unforseen happens during install.
still the same problem for me with svchost.exe allways asking to create rule...but the rule is allready created...
with new build 6.0.2293.253.0490
with port 1900... maybe other port too - not tested.
the problem with Nod32 and Outpost is caused by "Web access protection" - disable it in Nod32 and most of the problems stop.
The problem seems to be a result of EKRN.exe working almost like a proxy for all "web access" - and where there's a rule blocking anything it's simply ignored UNLESS the rule happens to be set against EKRN.exe (so if you don't want to disable that function of Nod32 - make sure you have any blocks added to apply to EKRN.exe)
almost same and similiar (http://outpostfirewall.com/forum/showthread.php?p=165888) problems I ve with p2p based applications skype, utorrent, emule...
I have experienced the same bug. I have a thread about it here: http://outpostfirewall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22531
It adds a little more detail. I have not contacted Agnitum because they will probably just ask for my confidential logs.
Are we all using ESET NOD32?
but with previous versions I ve similiar problem, I must edit emule rule while emule open, to able to connect servers if autorulecreation disabled, and then this problem :)
Just wanted to ask :) I'll give it a try then.
Installed new NOD32. Very nice, but does not help with this Outpost Firewall problem.
I've been running for weeks now with Outpost stopped, beginning to regret the purchase.
Same problem here with utorrent and Emule. No problem with previous versions.
So far the new build 6.0.2293.253.0490 seems to have cured the problem for me.:D

Got the same problem. OP asks for action although there's an existing rule. After a few "Allow Onces" everything seems to be normal though.
sry for extra post...
I have the same proble as the OP, but with Skype, it keeps prompting to create the same rule over and over again.
Tom
Same for me with svchost.exe on port 2869.... every 2-3 min it keeps prompting to create the same rule over and over again.

Unfortunately disabling the web access protection does not stop these duplicate prompts, the only way round it for me is to run in 'block most' mode, then at least the endless popups are supressed.

I could use some help again...
